The sermon on James 1 and Romans 8 examines how we perceive ourselves. While social media and perfectionism can provide distorted reflections, Scripture acts as the “”true mirror,”” revealing that we are icons made in God’s image. By rejecting lies of inadequacy and embracing our adoption as children of “”Abba,”” we can understand that identity is a gift to be received, not a status to be constructed.

It’s a story of resilience and faithfulness in the face of resistance and fear, as Nehemiah and a remnant of God’s people persist in carrying out God’s vision of renewal in their city. Nehemiah reminds us that we all have a unique contribution in serving God and seeking Him for the renewal of London.
