Living a Better Story

Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning ‘arrival.’ For hundreds of years followers of Jesus have used this time to re-anticipate, wait, and reflect on the coming of ‘Immanauel’ – God with us. Advent, therefore, is an opportunity to recentre our lives in light of Jesus’ story and his arrival into human history.

As a church, we want to remember the story we are called to live out in our world, and share the hope of Christmas with friends and family amidst the busyness, cost, and stress that can often come with this season. We look at how Advent invites us to live a better story than any other this Christmas time.

This Advent we will explore how Jesus’ arrival and birth brings us ‘Humility in a world of status,’ ‘Generosity in a time of indulgence,’ and ‘Simplicity in a time of excess.’
