FAQs on Phase 1 of reopening our services

Tickets

We will be limiting capacity at all our reopened venues to enable a safe, socially distanced environment for our services. Please reserve a free ticket before you come to church. You can reserve tickets for your household or support bubble, but please only book tickets you will use so that others don’t miss out. There may be a limited number of walk in seats available; on arrival you will need to wait and if there are seats available once all the ticket holders have been seated we will welcome you in, though this is not guaranteed. Please also note that if you arrive late we cannot guarantee entry.

Doors will open 15 minutes before the service starts. Tickets can be reserved:

For Bethnal Green at 10.30am HERE

If you can no longer use your reserved ticket(s) please email [email protected] as soon as possible.

Touch free

As far as possible we will make your experience touch free. When you arrive at the venue a Welcomer will check you in. This will be quickest if you have your ticket open on your phone and the QR code ready to scan. Your QR code is on your sign up confirmation email and is also available on MyChurchSuite via the ChurchSuite App.

Hygiene

Please wear a face covering at all times during the service. This is for the safety of others. We will have spare face coverings available if you’ve forgotten yours. You will be asked to sanitise your hands upon arrival using our foot pump sanitiser stations.  Chairs, door handles and other high contact points will be cleaned before and after the service.

Toilets will be available, though we would ask you to only use them if necessary. Soap and disposable hand towels will be provided.

Please do not come to church if you are unwell. If you do develop symptoms after attending a service, you can contact us at [email protected] and we will discreetly trace whether there has been a risk of transmission and notify NHS Test and Trace.

Social Distancing

We will be setting the chairs at 2 metre intervals. Members of the same household or support bubble will be able to sit together by moving adjacent chairs. The 2 metre distance should be maintained throughout the service.

Families

We will not be running any creche or children’s activities during this phase. Children are welcome, but will be required to remain seated with their family at all times while in the building to ensure social distancing measures are respected. This is to provide a stress free environment for those who might be feeling anxious or vulnerable.  Parents and carers will be required to keep their children with them at all times.

Communion

We will not be taking communion together during this phase.

Singing

During this phase we will not be singing aloud together. There may be a live musician who will lead us in a more contemplative way, or we may use elements of pre-recorded worship. We believe that there are many ways of connecting with God together, and although we are looking forward to being allowed to sing corporately again we know that God will be present and meeting with us during these times.

Prayer Ministry

Our prayer teams will not be able to offer one-to-one prayer during this phase. If you would like someone to pray with you online or by phone, please get in touch

One Way Systems

All locations will operate a one-way system of separate entrances and exits.

COVID-19 Symptoms

If you have been diagnosed with or experienced symptoms of COVID-19 you must not come to church. Likewise, if you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 please stay at home.

In addition, if you have returned from overseas (except travel corridors) or been in close contact with someone who has returned from overseas in the last 14 days please stay at home.

Accessibility

We will endeavour to accommodate accessibility needs. Please get in touch with [email protected] before your visit and will be happy to make the necessary arrangements.

Test and Trace

By reserving a seat at a Christ Church London service you agree that your details (including name, contact number and the times you are in the building) may be shared with NHS Test And Trace in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak. For more information see our privacy policy.
