Talks

The letter of 1 Peter creates a picture of who we are personally and collectively: a people of God alive with His hope, purpose and strength. Each talk will look at a different aspect of our identity and purpose as God’s children, and how we have been brought into a new family, a new identity and a new, living hope.

This series will help us reflect on Advent as a season of waiting and longing, with the promise of hope to be fulfilled. We will look at four people in the New Testament who were central in the story of Jesus’ birth as they waited for their King to come; and we will consider what we can learn from them about living with longing and hope in the context of our world today.

In John’s gospel there are seven sayings, where Jesus declares Himself to be none other than God, and the answer to humanity’s deepest longings. In this series, we will explore the ‘I Am’ sayings of Jesus, and consider how He is the answer to the pains and problems of this broken world.

From time to time we break from our sermon series and preach standalone messages. These range from seasonal events, to baptisms, baby dedications, vision talks, or hot topics. Here you can find a range of special talks from a selection of speakers.

Writing to a young community navigating the competing pressures, cultural tensions, and philosophies of the Roman world, Paul points the believers back to the supreme authority, sufficiency, and beauty of Jesus. In this series, we explore Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae and discover what its ancient wisdom means for our lives today.

In the book of Romans, Paul teaches that followers of Jesus should consider themselves to be Living Sacrifices, treating the whole of our lives as worship to God. In this series we’re going to unpack that idea by working through Romans 12, considering what it means for us as we seek to love and serve one another, build deep and genuine community, navigate challenging seasons of life, and be a blessing to our city.

Right through Scripture, the Holy Spirit has been active, creating, shaping, restoring, and empowering God’s people to be a blessing to the world. In this series, we want to consider what it would look like for us to live Spirit filled lives, so that we can continue his work today, with the particular challenges our world is facing.

In this series, we’re looking at the Kingdom of God, and asking what kind of King Jesus is, and what kind of Kingdom He’s building. We will see that Jesus’ vision of the Kingdom meets our deepest needs and longings, and is a beautiful blueprint for how we as a church can partner with God in working for the Cultural, Social and Spiritual renewal of London.
