Seminar: Stories from the Mission Field

What does it take to step onto a plane to a country you’ve never set foot in and share your faith with people whose language you don’t speak? What happens, when fleeing war and persecution, you come to the UK as a refugee? Do you ever wonder if God is calling you to the mission field at home or abroad? Come and be inspired and empowered as we chat to charitable organisation Refugee Education UK, and former CCLer Hannah Joy about her time building church in Turkey and working with persecuted Christians through Open Doors.

Waiting for God

David Stroud 12th July 2026

Genesis 18:1-15: One of the hardest parts of being a disciple is learning to wait for God; when we are waiting for him to fulfil a longing of our hearts, an answered prayer or something we believe he has promised us. David draws from the life of Abraham to consider how we can do this and keep our hearts healthy and positive, even when the waiting period lasts many years.

Is Mission Harmful?

Clare William-Sarpong (OCCA)

Luke 9:51-56; John 4:24-30 & 39-43: In this series, Life on Mission, we want to equip the church to join God’s mission wherever they are, in whatever they do. Mission is one of our three core values as a church, and we want to encourage people to see that mission isn’t something we start – it’s something we step into. God is already at work around us in daily life, and we’re invited to partner with him.

We look at how Jesus willingly went to the cross, and how he invites us to follow him there, and the live changing power which is found the other side of sacrifice.
