Hope is a central theme in the Bible, and a foundational aspect of the Christian faith. During Advent and Christmas we remember our living hope – the person of Jesus Christ! In this talk, John looks at what happens when our hope is in the wrong people or things, and how we can instead live as people whose hope in God.

In the Bible, peace is more than just the absence of conflict. Shalom, the Hebrew word for peace, is when God steps into creation and sets the world right. In this talk, Sarah invites us to reflect upon the promise in Isaiah that Jesus has come as the Prince of Peace, and it is His presence that brings us peace and leads us in the ways of peace.

In the Bible, we see that true joy comes from salvation. And salvation is God stepping into and changing our reality, breathing life into the things we thought dead. Through Jesus, God is showing us the best way to be human, to live a life filled with joy. In Advent, we watch as joy comes to earth and we wait for the fullness of it to come again.
