Prayer of Thanksgiving

Today, we chose to fast in order to draw closer to God, to be even more aware of His presence with us and our need for Him.

Having now broken our fast this evening, we offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God for his strength and provision.

Take a moment now to be still, to slow your breathing, and revel in the silence. Allow yourself to be aware of God’s presence with you.

Reflect upon the day that has passed. When and where did you sense God’s presence the most? When and where were you most aware of your dependency on Him?

Heavenly Father,

As I end this day of fasting, I give you thanks for sustaining me throughout the day. Thank you for reminding me that you truly are the author of life.

Thank you for your Son Jesus, for being the bread of life and ever-flowing fountain that our souls long for.

I am grateful that you provide for both my physical and spiritual needs, including the food that I get to eat. May the joy and delight found in every meal point to the greater joy and delight found in being yours.

Amen

Revelation 2:8-11
At the start of 2026, we’re exploring Jesus’ instructions to the ‘Seven Churches’ in Revelation (chapters 2-3). As we long for a move of God in our city, we can often feel the cost of following Jesus in testing times. Revelation offers a practical message to stay faithful to Jesus, despite the pressures to compromise.

The Heart Project

Joel Wade 11th January 2026

Our vision as a church is to follow Jesus together, for the renewal of London. But what does that look like in practice? If we long to see London transformed, what is our role in that transformation? At the start of the year, co-senior leader Joel Wade guides us through both biblical narrative and CCL’s story to introduce our ‘Heart Project’.
