We believe that the God of the Bible cares passionately for the poor, the broken and the dispossessed. As part of our service to God, we get to be His instruments for change in the lives of those who need change most.
In the next year we are going to be organising clothing collections, hosting tea-parties for the elderly, teaching English to asylum seekers, visiting the sick in hospital, providing food for those who can’t afford it, working with the homeless, help young people grow in self-confidence, support the unemployed and those in debt, clean up estates, and befriending those who are lonely.
We have an incredibly dedicated team of people who would love to hear from you if you are interested in getting involved. If you would like to begin a ministry to the needy in an area near you, we’d also love to hear from you. Please contact Andy Tilsley on 07973 828 709 if you have any questions.

If you love football and blessing your local community, this is for you! We meet every Monday evening in Kennington for a 2-hour session with students from years 7 and 8 from a local estate. A normal evening involves going through some training skills, having a short talk and a game to finish things off.
We’re working alongside the charity ‘Ambassadors in Sport’ who have successfully run similar projects across the country and have a vision to have schemes in every London borough by 2012. We’re hoping to provide a context for young people from a variety of backgrounds to find a strong community, grow in confidence and find a safe place to express themselves through sport.
It would be great to get more people involved. You don’t need to be fantastic at football. You just need a heart for young people and a commitment to the project.
If you’d like to get involved, please contact Chris Kirtley on 07969479674 or at chris_kirtley@yahoo.co.uk

ChristChurch London is going to be working on a 12-15 week project with young people, aged 14-18, to help them build self-esteem by exploring issues around relationships, sex, and identity. This is called the ‘Romance Academy’.
The Academy addresses many issues that young people want to talk about in a safe environment, and we hope this develops both character and emotional resilience among the young people on the project.
Our aim is to ensure each member is valued, challenged and supported, and we hope this becomes the foundation for helping young people build self-esteem through developing healthy peer friendships and by adopting a long-term approach to their sexual health and well being.
If you are interested in being part of the project, then please contact Joy Tilsley at joytilsley@hotmail.co.uk or Pat Friel on patriciafriel472@hotmail.com

ChristChurch London is wanting to create as many ways as possible to help young people develop their sense of self-confidence and self worth, and provide a safe place for young people to express themselves.
One of the projects we are going to be running in 2010 is a ‘Dance Summer School’ where we will be training a group of 10-15 young people to perform on the stage of the Piccadilly Theatre during one of our Sunday meetings. We are then hoping to continue the project through the Autumn term, with a view to involving these young people in the 2010 Carol Services at ChristChurch London.

For the past three years, ChristChurch London has partnered with ‘Kids Company’, which looks after 12,000 abused and disadvantaged children. Each year they are invited to a Christmas party and given a bag containing 4 wrapped presents. You can support the charity by collecting a label from the Christmas tree which will be in the foyer from Sunday 29th November, and bringing it back over the next fortnight with a gift attached. We have collected hundreds of presents over the past few years, and are hoping to make a difference in many more lives this Christmas.
There are also opportunities to volunteer with ‘Kids Company’. If you want to explore ways of doing this, please contact Jacqui Frisby on 07962 204137 or at jacquifrisby@googlemail.com

It may surprise you to hear that tens of thousands of people in London don’t have enough money to pay for food, because of rising bills and living costs. ChristChurch London is going to be partnering with ‘Food Bank’ to help remedy this growing problem.
We will be sending teams of people to supermarkets across the city, to encourage the general public to buy extra food items with their weekly shopping, which we will then distribute to people in need.
The ‘Food Bank’ projects already in existence in London have already had a hugely positive impact, and Marianne Hunwick is going to be helping set up a Food Bank through ChristChurch London.
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Marianne at: marianne_hun@yahoo.co.uk

London is home to thousands of victims of injustice and oppression from many nations that are seeking refuge in our city. We have a vision to see marginalised asylum-seekers and refugees find ‘refuge’ through ChristChurch London.
We are starting a mentoring scheme for refugee school children needing help with their homework. You will be able to befriend and support a refugee child, along with their family, in the most practical way. We are gathering people together to chat further about this project on Saturday January 23, in Elephant and Castle. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Hannah Elwyn at: 07769 695 377 / Hannahr6@hotmail.com

The best bit about partnering with the Besom project is seeing the positive difference it makes to people’s lives. ChristChurch London has already helped paint houses, repair gardens and decorating houses, and we’ll continually put on projects that look to support people in need in really practical ways.
If you’d like to find out when the next Besom project is taking place, then you can contact Leanne Mason on 07906 690 559 or at lsmason2003@yahoo.co.uk

With the recession hitting so many people we are wanting to support people that have been affected by the current economic climate as well as the long-term unemployed. Our aim is to help as many people as we can get back into work by assisting them with CV writing, interview skills and how to effectively look for employment, as well as network effectively.
We are looking for people to give up a few hours a week to help prepare CV’s, search for job opportunities and to coach people in how to interview appropriately, as well as being a positive inspiration during their tough times.
If you are interested in helping people back into work and changing people’s lives for the better, please contact Richard Hillier at: Richard.hillier@madisonkingassociates.com
