Why would you want to be a spectator, when you get to be a participator?
Become part of the community and commit yourself to playing a part in pursuing the church’s vision. Every person has a unique role to play, and we hope that you will find in ChristChurch London a community where you can both belong and make a significant contribution.
Being part of a church is so much more than simply turning up and being part of a crowd each Sunday. There is so much we want to do, so many people and nations we want to reach, and so many ministries we want to develop, that the more people that get on board, the further and faster we can get towards accomplishing our vision.
If you are considering becoming a member at ChristChurch London we would ask that you read through the information below and ask yourself these two questions: Is this a vision I can own? Is this a community of which I can become a part?
Becoming one with Christ, which happens at the moment of your conversion, means that you become part of his worldwide Church, and this is totally a result of His grace. This ‘positional’ membership is eternal and unchanging.
However, the Bible also urges ‘positional members’ to continue growing by becoming ‘participating members’ in a specific local community. Participating members have expressed their willingness to be part of the local church, to get involved and to help make things happen. It is an important step for each believer to make in one’s spiritual journey, and we believe that it is an essential part of becoming a mature and healthy believer.
We would start by encouraging you to begin by joining us regularly at our Sunday celebrations and becoming an active member of a Life Group for a couple of months. Becoming a member is recognition of the fact that we are fully engaged in the life of the church, so getting involved is the first step!
We would also ask you to read through the Membership Booklet and watch the accompanying video in full, and then decide whether you are ready to give yourself to our vision, to supporting the leaders, and to becoming involved in church life.
Once you’ve done all of that, we’d ask you to talk with your Life Group leader and they can take you through the process of filling in a Membership Form, and they will then pass it on to the Eldership Team.
To find out more, please download our Membership Booklet, and watch the accompanying videos at http://vimeo.com/channels/becomingamember.
Prayer
Each term we meet to pray together as a church for the city, the nation, and the nations of the world. For more information on our next prayer meeting, check out the ChristChurch London calendar.
We believe that Jesus still heals today and we have seen a number of significant healings since ChristChurch London began back in 2004.
If you would like prayer for healing, the Healing Team are on hand to pray for people every other Sunday at ChristChurch London. If you would like prayer, or have any questions about the Healing Team, please contact Pete Mac on 07957 361 205.
It is our conviction that everyone who wants to follow Jesus should be baptised by full immersion in water. It is our delight and privilege to baptise people at ChristChurch London who profess faith in Jesus as their Saviour.
Our regular baptismal meetings on a Sunday are real highlights in our church calendar, and you might want to go along to one first to see what it’s all about. The varying stories from many different people, detailing their journey to Jesus, are both moving and inspiring.
We realise that this is a big step for many, and would love to chat about the Biblical significance of baptism and explain what being baptised in a theatre involves. If you have any questions do get in touch with us at the office. If you’d like to meet with someone to talk about the prospect of getting baptised at ChristChurch London, or if you have any anxieties or questions about baptism in general we’d love to hear from you. You can also find out some more information about baptism in our membership booklet on our membership page.

It is our conviction that those who are committed to the church should give with great generosity to both provide for the work of the church, but also to help the church in its mission to help change London and reach the nations of the world.
In the Old Testament the people of God were called to bring a tenth of their income as a sacrifice to God, also known as a tithe. This was partly a reminder that what they had was given to them from God. The tithe was brought to the temple so that the priests and Levites had food and drink, and it also provided for the work of the temple and the priesthood.
In the New Testament all specifics on giving are taken away and we’re allowed to be as generous as possible! We should reflect God’s generous heart in the way that we give as part of our worship; we are to give regularly and in keeping with our income. We should grow in faith so that we can respond to God with greater generosity.
There is no set rule for giving, but we would encourage all members of ChristChurch London to give by standing order wherever possible. This simply helps us have a clearer idea of the amount of money coming in, which in turn helps us plan more responsibly for the future. Likewise, if you are a UK tax-payer giving to ChristChurch London, we would encourage you to fill in a Gift Aid Form, which enables us to claim the tax back on your giving.
ChristChurch London is both a registed charity and a Limited Company. If you would like to find out where our money has been spent over the past twelve months, you can download 2009’s annual accounts.
Accounts for previous years are available to read at your request.
