Coffee & Cakes are mornings for mums, toddlers, babies and dads (if around). This is an informal chance to get together and socialise, to support families in ChristChurch London, to allow deeper friendships and to develop and support one another on both practical and spiritual levels.

On the 1st Saturday of each month we collect about a ton of food from the good customers of Sainsbury's, allowing the Vauxhall foodbank to keep feeding hungry people. We live in a broken world, full of sickness, suffering and death; and where is God? Is He indifferent, or simply impotent to do anything about it? In this talk, David will explore Jesus’ claim to be the resurrection and the life, and what it tells us about the compassion of God, and His plan to put the world to rights.

One of the most fundamental objections many have to the Christian faith is the amount of suffering that we see all around us in the world today.  If a loving God exists why does he allow some of the most terrible tragedies, injustices and natural disasters that we read about daily in our newspapers?  How can God be aloof from the suffering of the human race?

This talk will try and provide some answers and perspectives on the Christian view of suffering highlighting that God may not be as detached from a world of pain as perhaps we first thought.

In a world where many people claim to know the way to happiness, doubt the existence of truth, and just want to live their own lives however they want, what should we make of Jesus’ exclusive claim that he is the way, the truth and the life?

This week we'll be discussing the topic of Keeping Love Alive.
